Coming into this game the Ravens were a 3 point winner on the spread which is why I added them to my accumulator in my first attempt at NFL betting. This turned out to be a bad move. In a hopelessly one sided game this was out of control by the end of the first half, with the Jaguars Defensive and Offensive lines dominating throughout. The Ravens could not put a pass rush together with Parnell doing a great job of keeping Suggs in check. Their offensive was equally under siege, at halftime Joe Flacco's stat line read 4 for 13 for -4 yards and an interception with one first down.
No surprise they found themselves 23-0 down at halftime. It didn't get better in the second half with another magic diving interception by Jalen Ramsey and the Ravens getting tricked out by the Jags faking a punt with a direct snap to the running back. By the end both teams had their second teams on as Jags wracked up 44 points. However the whole day was somewhat overshadowed by the bizarre twitter fight that Donald Trump kicked off earlier in the day by declaring that all kneeling players should be fired by their owners. The predictable result was that a movement that was essentially coming to an end has been rekindled and a third of both teams kneeled while the rest locked arms. We are now in the farcical situation where those who support the kneelings are calling to boycott the NFL until Kaepernick gets signed whereas those on the other side are also calling for a boycott due to the disrespect the players are showing to the flag. At this rate no one is going to be watching the NFL for matters totally unrelated to it!!
As usual it was a great day out, drank a lot of beer, ate some sausage and Jerk Chicken from the very cheery Jerk Chicken man playing his reggae through an amp. Wembley is a building site again there seems to be a lot buildings going up around the stadium again. One final point to note, outside wembley arena London's Korean community had turned up on mass to watch a famous Korean hip hop artist, a reminder perhaps of the cultural diversity that exists happily in many of the great cities of the western world.
